Made some updates to the cobra interiorTake a look at this amazing Cobra kit car from Factory Five Racing. Of course our customers strive for perfection and need to take it up a notch to achieve true one of a kind builds. After years of building and redesigning much of the kit and making extensive modifications to integrate many modern features into this little hotrod, it was time for Dan and Kay Wallerich to find an upholstery shop for an interior design that would perfectly blend each of their visions together with functionality. Of course we couldn’t use the interior that came with the kit car (time for a google image search) so we designed a waterfall style center console that flows down past the shifter into the dash creating a tray to place phones, sunglasses etc. It also flows up and around the seats. The bucket seat frames were modified to achieve proper fit, design, comfort and function with the dyno tuned Crate 5.0L Coyote engine under the hood making 450HP pushing this 2250LB hot rod down the road. In addition to the bucket seats a set of Schroth Racing 5 point harness’s were installed. The dash was covered in a two tone design and accommodates mechanically hidden cupholders, tweeters, gauges and switches controlled by the Infinity Box CAN Bus Intelligent Wiring system. It even has seat heaters! The door panels were a little tricky. If you have seen other cobra kit car interiors (go ahead do a google image search if you haven’t already) you will see a huge difference in the way our entire design looks. The doors are noteworthy as well. While incorporating armrests into the door panels had its challenges, it also gave it a nice dimension and a place to mount the power door release button, keeping the manual latch release on the back of the door. I could go on for days about all the details myself and the owner put into this car. Such as : the finished off the trunk space with amplifier and sub box covers, all stainless steel lines, Mercedes knit carpet, electronic parking brake, charging ports, etc.
I will just finish up by saying this is a true one of a kind custom cobra! You need to see it in person. The good thing is this car resides in Mankato, MN and will likely to be seen driving around frequently. Thank You Dan and Kay for allowing me to be a part of this unique build. I can’t wait to see it in person now that its fully assembled! I can get some better pictures of it to show off and take it for a spin. … See MoreSee Less
